The most amount of Geeks on the site ever was 604 on 26/02/06 at 11.25pm

The question is WHY !!!!

Does anyone know ??????

There is no real way of knowing as the posts dont go back that far as they are archived every so often.

It could be any number of reasons - Adele could have been hosting one of her cyber parties, there could have been a major search engine trawl, Sam may have done a major upgrade which caused loads of people to come and have a look.

Or something completely random. I bet Sandi will know LOL. I wonder if that was the Schming Schmong debate?

Got to say this has always intrugued me too......but the one thing that really intrigues me is the every time and I mean EVERY time I check out who is on line there is ALWAYS someone viewing the thread This Morning 11.20 Longest nails ever.
OK it is usually a guest....but it freaks me out that evry hour of every day someone searches that out.

Yes....we used to just be Nail Geek....aaah Those were the days before we let all these beauty therapists and hairdressers in causing all the bother and making us Salon Geek.............................running off to hide now before I get a :smack:

Don't think that was at the same time of the great influx of people though, maybe GMG would know for sure.

I remember that day sooo clearly - why...? because I missed the most users on line by going to Asda! I wasnt part of it. Think I'd just signed off when it happened.

It was a Sunday morning and everyone was just relaxing and going thru threads really... sharing the love in those days, lol! We didnt have hair geek then...

There was another beauty site in those days as well - they had like 2 members on theirs whilst everyone was on this site! :lol:

OMG, I'm so pleased that you said that, I've thought the same, every time I look at who's online I see a guest viewing that thread too.
One night I counted up (sad cow that I am lol) and there were more than half a dozen people looking at that thread

Excel was the week after so the number of people on the site on the 26th could have been due to sorting out Geek meets etc for the show?!?

I should have remembered because the Sunday of Excel was my birthday :lol: It was also the day that Amber (Minkus), Angie (Bagpuss), Glynis (Peter Pan) and myself had an unexpected tour of London's famous landmarks on our way home, all courtesy of my abysmal sign reading skills and no sense of direction as a back seat driver LMAO

Now I am sure that this had been mentioned on another thread a few years back and am sure that it is quite a boring answer. I think somebody is right in saying that it was due to a server upgrade and lots of spider bots or what ever they are called catching up with a system upgrade.

Now I could have totally dreamt the whole thing or probably just made it up in one of my bored moments too! :lol:
