What is an NVQ level 1?

Im just wondering what level 1 is because I skipped straight to nvq level 2 nails. Is it important that I have a level one? I mean my course covered all the basics

You don't need level 1 if you have level 2!

Oh right cause I overheard somebody say a salon wont employ you unless you have level 1 AND 2. Guess it was a mistake

It's the MINIMUM qualification available. 2 is harder than 1. Most don't even do 1 at college. They start on 2 and go onto 3.
