Hi Ellie

I'm doing ITEC at the mo for beauty and you will find a list of C.I's relevant to the treatment on their website itec.org and browse to the syllabus. You find a list of total C.I and those which require GP permission or client to sign off.

Hi Ellie

There are lots of posts on here asking for help with things like this for college assignments. Firstly, your college should have explained to you what contra indications are and supplied you with some course notes. If they haven't, I would ask your tutor. Secondly, I would recommend getting a good technicians book. Encyclopedia of Nails is an excellent start and if you can't afford to buy one you will certainly be able to borrow one from a main library. I got all of my contra indication information out of this book and comes in handy all the time.

With regard to the difference between beauty therapist and senior beauty therapist, all I can suggest is having a think about it a little more. What additional duties, skills and qualities do you think a senior therapist should have?

Sometimes the questions aren't as tricky as they sound. hth x

hi ladies thanks for your advice - i will get myself the book as I am sure it will come in handy for my next course too (artificial nail techniques). thanks again! xx:)

Are you looking for CI's specific to nail enhancements, man ped or other beauty/body treatment?

hi we have had some contraindications explained and got a handout but it didnt say which CI's would need to be referred to a doctor etc although I know some are common sense! I have to state which ones I would refer to a GP, Special Consultant, Chiropractor, Alternative Therapist, Senior Therapist, Trichologist, Counsellor and Life Skills Coach. I have done them using common sense but wondered if anyone knew any good websites with lots of useful info to add to what I have already put?

I would not be happy with your assignment...in order to refer a client you would in a sense need to make a diagnosis, which we are never ever allowed to do. I would say it's up to a GP to make the above referrals. What do you think?
