what is this inverted nail application tecnique

Sorry if I'm way behind on this but I saw a thread in the critique section on the above only it was shown using gel.
I'm a hardcore L&P girl myself and wondered if you could use this method to produce nails in this same way?
If so - could you please help with a tutorial or something as I really fancy having a go to do my own nails. Could it be the answer to my prayers when it comes to doing "my other hand"?!!
Help from you geeky geeks would be really appreciated - I 've tried a search on this but failed dismally.

If you go onto You Tube and look for inverted nails you will see demos. If you use search on here and type in inverted nail application or moulds you will find something. There has been much discussion on this recently.
