Well, ideally you should have qualified as an Instructor with a reputable product manufacturer / supplier. Not only with they improve your skills, but also show you how to teach application of their products.

Legally, can you do this. Probably yes. However, any company willing to hire an untrained instructor is probably at the low end of the education scale and most likely doesn't have a good reputation. Do you really want your name attached to that?

I agree 100% with Bob (as usual).

One reason so many people complain about being 'ripped off' and why the education in schools who hire 'anybody' that does nails to teach nails is because they are not qualified in any way to teach. I have found in the past that neither the nail skills nor the teaching skills of the so called teachers are anywhere near the level they should be.

There is allot more to teaching than showing others what you do.

If you want to get into training then I suggest you approach the companies that have a good reputation for training because they TRAIN their trainers to do so and ensure their nail skills and teaching skills are top notch.

Knowing your subject inside out is one thing, but the skill to teach that subject is something completely different. Not only will a teaching qualification help you to develop this skill, it will also help you with regards insurance and accreditation. Very few insurance companies will offer you teaching cover if you are not qualified, and accreditation of a course also usually requires that you hold a teaching qualification.

There are a number of teaching qualifications around, such as PTLLS and City & Guilds. Your local college should be able to give you some information on these.
