Am looking to purchase a chair for myself (nail tech), a client chair and a chair and stool/footrest suitable for pedicures. Would any of you be kind enough to tell me what chairs you use, and what you find the most comfortable, professional etc, or can make any recomendations.

This will be used in my home salon i am trying to get up and running... colour scheme is pink, black and white... not sure if chairs should be black or white either, so would be grateful for your opinions please. There are just so many choose from...

Thank you

I use a "kneeling" chair for myself (helps keep my back straight), an office arm chair for client chair, a reclining lawn chair for pedis that is on a pedestal that brings the clients feet up to where I need them to be without killing my back. I think for all 3 chairs (which I have upholstered to match) I have $200 US invested.

pedicures are really nice and relaxing for the client if performed on a couch and then you have have a normal chair at the end to perform the treatment.

or you can buy a pedicure chair

I use my couch, and I have a saddle stool for me.
No-one's complained as yet!

Ya know i've heard lots of geeks mention their couch but i just can't visulise it. What about the foot bath? And wouldn';t it be aukward when applying polish because the toes would be pointing up.

Or am i totally missing something?

I also use a comfortable office type chair that also reclines. It came with a footstool and also has massage functions. But I never use those. I had a platform built by my darling husband. The chair is anchored to the platform so it can't topple over when a client leans forward. My client love the chair and always ask where I got it as it is so comfortable. I sit on a puffy with a lid. Inside I keep all my towels. hth

put the back of the couch half way up so there sitting up and then knees bent so the feet are flat.

Thank you all so much for responding, i really appreciate your comments.

Am still finding it hard to make my mind up, and am going blind flitting from the beauty catalogues, to ebay to office suppliers trying to decide what to go for... Maybe am over thinking it, lol.

I had thought about the couch option, but i really don't have the space and as i only work with nails, feel the chairs are a better investment.

Thanks again..

When I'm doing a Raw Earth pedicure I don't use a footbath at all. When I do a MarineSpa one I have the client sit on a regular chair for the footbath and then they move onto the couch for the rest of the treatment.
There's no issue with the toes pointing up because I just ask the client to bend their knees!
