hey there personally i find clear tips have a good c curve and they blend easy but usally i do sculpts and use c curve sticks those work the best and easy to use

With gel it tends to be a one ball application. So if you apply your ball at the centre of the apex and then tease the gel out from the edges of the ball to the edges of the nail pate then you have an instant c-curve created with no effort at all.
