I cant decide what to charge for mobile spray tans? £20 or £25?

I have considered all the factors and thought of maybe charging £20 to begin with and then later dow the line up it to £25?

do you think this is risky and any clients i have built up might be put off by this, i though of maybe doing a promotion along with the price increase?

has anyone had this before?

any advice appreciated?

I would stay at £20. You will be suprised what clients will do to save a fiver. They will go somewhere else as all mobile therapists are £20 really x

Have you checked in your area to see what others are charging ?? i charge 15 as that is about the going rate in my area. some are even charging 10 to new customers x

I charge £15.00 i live in a small town. If I lived in a city then I would charge at least £20.00

I agree with the other posters - definitely make sure you're competitive with the other therapists in your area, but also have a look at what products they're using etc too and make sure you're covering your costs. If you're using a more premium product you should be charging more. Also I wouldn't start lower then suddenly put your prices up, unless you're very clear in your publicity that it's a special offer for a limited time only.

For my first year in the business, I charged £20 for a single tan, and £18 for a shared appointment/party rate.

During that first year I did my very best to perfect my technique and learn all I could about the wonderful subject of spray tanning. I also discovered that I was providing ... how shall I put it .... a more professional service than some local competition, with great results and the "full works" for each client.

I now charge £25 for a single Fake Bake spray tan, and £20 each if it's a shared appointment. I charge £30 for a single Aviva Express spray tan, and £25 for a shared appointment.

Lots of my clients then do their best to get a friend roped in and I'd say about 2/3 of my appointments are for 2+ clients.

I also do a Loyalty Scheme, where each client's 6th tan is free (all 6 tans to be taken in a 12 month period). I'm not saying I like going out and doing a spray tan for free (!!!!) but the clients who have so far benefitted from this seem to love it.

xx
