What to pay someone to make tea and coffee and answer the phone?

Hi a girl came into the salon today and asked for a job and iv been thinking I need someone to come in on busy days to answers the phone make drinks and clean up.
Anyway she is starting on Wednesday but I'm not sure what I should be paying her?

Hmmm how old is she? I would probably say minimum wage to honest.
 
Minimum wage which is age- dependant.
 
She has just left school so I'd say she is 15 or 16 x
 
well she would be 16 then but she still meeds minium wage for her age check it out on direct gov all info there :)

for workers aged 21 years or more: £6.08 per hour
for workers aged 18 to 20 inclusive: £4.98 per hour
for workers aged under 18 (but above compulsory school age): £3.68 per hour
for apprentices aged under 19: £2.60 per hour
for apprentices aged 19 and over, but in the first year of their apprenticeship: £2.60 per hour

It's not just answering the phone, making drinks and clearning up etc she's also in effect the face of your business so there's an opportunity for that to grow with time, PR etc :)
