Hi all,

I’m looking to have a change in career and am looking at either training in waxing or lashes as I feel these are the areas that appeal to me most. I was just wondering what is everyone’s most popular treatment? I live in north west. Thanks :)

We do a lot of waxing it’s really popular all year round but I think it’s unusual to do just this- are you looking to do this mobile or get a salon job? From my experience Most salons would want someone who does all treatments not just waxing. Also I’m not sure how popular waxing would be for mobile clients?

Lashes are also popular- so many people seem to be doing this at the moment though so a lot of competition but I would of thought if you want to specialise in something then lashes would be the way to go- or why not do both?

If you want to make money regularly and constantly I would suggest waxing. Lashes require a lot of skill that for most isn’t there to start with and there is lots of money to make but will take a lot longer to build up as you improve. There is a lot more margin for error with lashes.

Waxing is the bread and butter of beauty and there is always a demand for it. Lashes are a big treatment too and require patience and ability to do the same thing over and over again in a small area - so if you do any repetitive hobbies like knitting or sewing you might well find you are good at it. If you are not one for fiddly things then waxing would be a good choice.

I second waxing, definately as my first choice. Then add on eyelash tinting/ perming and then lash extensions if you still want to do it. You could always ask your client base if they are interested and take it from there.
Good pedicures will keep you busy as an additional add on for you to consider.
Good luck
