hi everyone

can you do acrylic and gel on any nail type as long as there are no contra indications?

Have you completed training in gel? it mentions gel in your profile but nothing about who you trained with? As this should have been a major part of your training.

:)hi i am currently training now, but we have only been shown how to apply it, our tutor doesnt seem to have time to go through all the details such as what kind of nails you should do it on! I know I should ask her questions really as its the only way I can find out!

Thats a real shame, especially as it's level 3 you are doing. If you have a question you should ask it!

In our salon we advise clients who have strong, hard/brittle nails to have gel as it provides more flexibility, especially if they already have a lovely natural c curve. Gel is also great for natural nail overlays where no extention is required.
It all depends on your client, are they hard on the nails? What do they do for a living?
Clients who are hard on their hands, want that extra bit of length or who have flat, soft nails are advised to have liquid & powder.

I would have thought this would have been covered when you were taught consultations? If not, then you need to speak to your tutor.

I have to agree with Lisa this should have been covered before you started practical work. I would go back to my tutor and ask her to go over this ares with you again. Its not very fair on you or the other students if its not been covered properly.
