To change your wax over? I am litterally at the end of the pot now is there a quick and clean way of changing it over?

Thanks so much for any advice you can offer.

Becky.

Becky

Which heater and which wax are you using? And what tin is the wax in, i.e. is it in the tin / plastic pot it came in, or have you dispensed it into a reusable bucket?

It just comes in a plastic pot then needs to be melted into the wax heater (does that make sense)?

I have a normal wax pot - not sure of the make or model?

Did you not decant it into a separate pot then put it in your heater?
Something like this

Yes thats what I got :)

Whats the best way to clean out remaining wax?

To be honest hun it is near impossible you would use a separate pot for each type of wax.
I use Perron Rigot wax and buy the empty tins which I top up when getting low.
I have maybe 3 tins with the 3 types of wax Im using strip, strip less and paraffin.

sorry to be really dull here, but can you buy just the tin pots to go (as above in pic)? I thought it came part of the set? So are you saying just throw out my metal insert?

Sorry im confusing matters?

Yes you can buy them, and no don't throw them out.
When you purchase your new wax, put the tin tilted above the wax pot when it is turned on. It will melt the wax and it will flow into the old pot. Just watch your pot is big enough to take it all, or you'll have a sticky mess. If you want to use a new wax, eg to try parafin wax or non strip wax, buy a new pot and you can use it from then on for that wax.

The buckets are a little bit expensive so I agree, don't throw them out :)

You can get replacements from pretty much any wholesaler.

I have in the past successfully cleaned out a bucket - heat it reasonably hot (not so hot it burns the wax) tip the remaining wax out, scrape it out with a spatula, give it a good wipe with bunched up couch roll (all while the bucket is hot) then clean it with equipment cleaner (again, while it's still hot.)

Be careful! There is lots of opportunity to burn yourself!

Oh thanks so much! You've been really helpful!

Thanks again becky x

Out of interest... which wax are you replacing with?

There are a few on the market that you can pop straight in a 1000cc heater without decanting. Not mine unfortunately! But Smart Buy Catalogue sell warm waxes in 800g tins, as do PR. Hive have also started making 800g plastic pots.

The other thing you can do ... once you have cleaned your bucket out :)... is put an 800g pot directly into the bucket.

(A tin you can put straight into the heater but if it's a plastic pot I would recommend putting it into the bucket. You may need to wiggle the scraper bar up or even out.)

Haven looked that far ahead yet tbh, but ill look at those you have suggested thanks. The one I have been using is a tea tree wax which smells lovely but i cannot remember who it is by - can you tell Im new at this (ill blame my pregnancy brain!) :)

I am sure Hive do a Tea Tree Creme Wax in 800g pots, have a look at Beauty Express.

Thanks Zoe will do x
