I'm just wondering if the facialists might have an idea whats wrong with me!

I had a cold last week and made my nose sore with all the blowing! I didn't take my make up off on saturday night and woke up with a spot on the side. It hurt more than a spot would but I put tea tree on it and thought it would be okay, its gradually got worse. It started off weeping but now it cover a bigger area than a 5p but it more like a painful scab. I went to give blood yesterday which she said I couldnt because of the cold and also my nose, I should have asked but I was just feeling horrible about it. I thought it might be a coldsore or something.
Its sore and I'm really self concious about it as it looks horrible!

Thanks everyone x x x

Your best bet would be to go to your Doctor's that way your mind will be at rest and if needed a perscription to help heal it.
Take care of you
Hope your cold goes soon x

You can get coldsores on your nose but it may also just be an infected spot/boil which has been irritated by blowing your nose. Do you normally get coldsores?-if not this is the less likely diagnosis.

Your doctor is the best person to take a look at it and prescribe something to clear it up.
You poor thing

Sounds to me like a herpes cold sore. These lesions are VERY painful and once you have one, you are always prone to having another as the virus can lie dormant in you and then rear it's ugly head from time to time especially in times of illness and stress. I suffer from this. They do weep and get scabby and then crack and bleed. Best thing is to not allow them to get moist. Go to your nearest pharmacy and they will probably recommend Zovirax cream. Herpes cold sores are contagious so keep your face cloth, etc..... to yourself. HTH xx

If it continues to weep and get bigger it could be impetigo. Not a nice thing to have and only prescribed stuff can get rid. I had it a few years back and it doesn't go away on it's own, just gets worse. Saying that, it could be something completely different - pop to your docs chick.

don't worrie:hug: nip down the doctor or call in at the chemist they might beable to help you xx

You can pop to the chemist right now, they are usually really helpful, it will make you feel better :)

I had impetigo ages ago (which I caught from a little boy) and it doesn't seem like that, it hasn't spread or anything over the last couple of days.

I've been trying to keep it dry but its just so obvious and and sore its making me want to stay in the house till its gone!

Would this by why I was unable to give blood due to the herpes virus?

I found this info on the web:

During a primary outbreak of herpes, a person infected with herpes should not donate blood. The very first time the symptoms of herpes are manifest, it's possible for a small amount of the virus to enter the bloodstream. Also, it is generally not advisable to donate blood when you're not feeling well, be it due to a primary or recurrent outbreak of herpes, the flu, or what have you. When you're sick, your body is already trying to fight off an infection, and giving blood at such a time can put a little extra strain on your body.

Beyond the concern for the donor's well-being, it is okay to donate blood during a recurrent outbreak of herpes. When the virus is in an asymptomatic phase, there's really no question as to whether or not you can donate blood -- you can. There aren't any documented cases of the herpes virus being transmitted via blood transfusion.

This means you do not definately have herpes on your nose, you were not allowed to give blood because you are sick. Please stop worrying and get a professional to look at it. You'll only wind yourself up and imagine the worst x

Its more than likely that but a coldsore is just the herpes virus which is common and nothing to worry about. I wouldn't be at all worried if it didn't look so awful! I'll sort some cream out and a brown pater bag with eye holes!

Thank you everyone for your help !!!!

It still could be impetigo ive had it twice once on my hand & then at the corner of my lip & both looked different.
The one on my lip looked like it was a coldsore but when i went to doctors they confirmed it was impetigo & gave me some cream which cleared it up within a week. The doctor told me that with impetigo & coldsores you should actually keep them moist not dry. xx
