i want to see how dermalogica works in the salon with out purchasing their starter fee and then be thousands out of money.

is there anywhere with decent prices that could carry me along to see how it goes?

thanks

No, we are not allowed to sell the prof products, only the retail ones. Plus part of the start up is the training. All training is free with dermalogica, so it is well worth the account package.

why cant you sell professional products to beauty therapists, i am not sure i understand

Hi, I started my own business in December and decided to go with Dermalogica and can tell you how absolutely thrilled I am that I did! I know it seems like alot to outlay at the start but seriously, the support and training you get are amazing and the retail products almost quite literally walk off the shelves by themselves! I'm still building my clientel so am still a little quiet in terms of service but by being able to prescribe Dermalogica has made sure I'm covering my overheads!

The treatment isn't as straight forward as cleanse, tone exfoliate, masque and moisturise, all the professional products are inter-related and the exfoliants especially are quite strong and you mix them according to your client so you wouldn't want to use them without knowing how they all work together!

Really well worth the investment in my opinion!

I second this, hun. You won't regret it. I signed up for a package at trade show and they let me spread the cost over 3 months, I think with pre-signed cheques. Don't know if they still offer this or not. xx

we used dermalogica throughout our beauty therapy training at college.i think its great. buy it from jersey. never had dermalogica training ,,couldnt afford it.!

 strange, are you qualified to do treatments on clients?
If not you are not entitled to buy the pro range, if you are then surely you are aware that you have to have training on the product range other wise what the heck are you going to do with the products once you get them.
and even trade prices...nothing is cheap in this industry!!!!

yes i am trained but not with dermalogica. see my last message

Well no offence but buying them cheaper off the internet is not very professional. Also its in their terms and conditions about selling on the internet and all that kind of thing after the boot fiasco. Also you cant be doing a professional standard of the treatment without all the professional products anyway the clients may aswel be buying it cheaper off the internet and doing it themselves instead of paying you.

My biggest concern with this would be insurance. Some of the products are very strong and if you were to cause a problem to somebodies skin usint these products without the training then you MAY NOT be covered by insurance if sued. A bit extreme maybe but always a risk.
I do think opening an account and getting the correct trainingis definately the best way to go, and worth every penny. Just my opinion

I am a fully licensed Dermalogica retailer and have their agreement to sell online. If you buy from Jersey, you can be liable for import taxes in the UK.
If you want to use dermalogica prof on clients, you need an account and training. I cannot sell pro products as I would lose my license.

I think if you contacted Dermalogica im sure they would sort something out for you.

I can't see how buying a few retail products would 'carry you along' as you won't have enough products to do an effective treatment. Its not a basic range either so without the correct knowledge of the products you could end up using them on the wrong skin type.

My old boss has recently told me that when she got dermalogica into the salon she didnt have to order the full start up but could choose what she wanted, not what Dermalogica say you have to buy, still need to look into this further but will keep you upated

There is a start up package available. You really have to have the full pro range in order to perform the treatments properly, I dont think you can just buy a few bits. Plus you need to "become" a dermalogica salon to access all the training.

Hi there,

Just reading the above info can anyone tell me how much it would roughly be to set up an account? Looking into it but haven't heard back from them yet, just recieved ther brouchers which look fab!

Thanks :)
