Hi there,
I started my own business last year and it hasnt took of very well. I am qualified as a holistic therapist (2004) and I was only offering massage,reflexology and indian head massage.
I live in a small expat comunity and had many people waiting for me to get started,clients came ,enjoyed treatments and others followed on recomendations but few clients returned and there reason was "no time to spend on themselves".
This has resulted in me not being able to afford the appartment i was renting below my house where I was working from.
People constantly rang for information ,book,cancel or didn t turn up or didnt call back to book at all.
The Treatments I seem to asked for most is waxing and acrylic nails.My problem is I qualified in 1994 as a beauty therapist and have had a long break to have my family.I worked as a beauty therapist in 2003 for a short time befor returning to college and training as a Holistic therapist.
My thoughts are that I was offering the wrong treatments and was not supplying the demand of my local client base but im feeling I could do with a refresher course in waxing even though I was a confident and popular therapist in waxing and im unsure about insurance and if my certificates are still valid ?
any thoughts ?
