Hi all :)

I am just setting up Pura Vida, my new salon. We officially open on 25th but I have been doing a few clients here & there.

Just wanted your thoughts on something.

The front of the salon has a lovely big window & is the hairdressing section. I have put my nail desk out there as thought it would be nice to have some visibility & also be nice being able to interact with the hair clients.

My beauty/spa room is out the back.

Is it acceptable to be doing pedicures/gel toes out the front? Sitting client at nail desk with a cuppa & a mag whilst working the feet under the desk?

Do you think generally clients would rather have their feet done out the back?

Is this a funny question? lol.

Umm, I suppose its all personal preference! Personally, if I went into a salon to get a pedicure, I wouldnt want to be sat in full view of the window with people looking in at me!! I would want a little bit of privacy :) x

Thanks chick - I was wondering that.

I rented a room for years so did everything in the room but now I have some space I dont know what to do with it lol.

I agree I woudnt like to have a pedi in full view of everyone walking past

I ABSOLUTELY agree...pedi's in the back...where it's more private. :)

When i worked in a hair dressers the clients didn't like having pedicures in the same area as the hair clients,
do them in the private room hun,
another thing to watch for when doing nail enhancements in the same room as the hairdressers is all the stray strands of hair that get blown around the salon with the hairdryers,
it used to drive me mad when they shuck the towels and hair went on my desk

i do pedicures in the beauty room and toe paints at my desk as its easier because mostpeople having toe paints have their nails done and then you don't have to move them and risk smudging. We don't do hair in my salon though so thatsnot a problem.

Ah ha! Random hairs! I hadn't thought of that :/
