I went to my local salon services today and thought on the off chance i would try their cheapy mercia gel (sayin that it still cost me £19ish) got home and i am very impressed! colour is exactly as it shows it on the pot, really easy to work with and you can do one entire hand at a time rather than 2 fingers as the gel is so runny! only time will tell if they will last and i think with the mercia gel u have to use a primer etc but i didnt buy that i just used it in exactly the same way as I do when i use calgel, i also prepped the nail in the same way too. Has anyone else used it or any other cheap products that they were impressed with?

I've never heard of that gel.. Is it a soak off?

yes it is, I have only come accross Mercia gel in salon services and nowhere else, i thought maybe it was their own make??

They sell it in Sally's as far as I'm aware.

The only 'cheap' stuff I buy are abrasives from IT&LY, but not all of the ones I use, only the sponge ones, they're great.
I have had cheap well less tips from ProImpressions, but they're not a patch on my Creative ones.

I usually go by the old saying of, buy cheap buy twice :wink2:

I use Star Nails quick dry top coat and I love it.

High gloss finish, dries very quick and lasts well too.

I only go 'cheap' with files/abrasives, sometimes. All my other stuff is CND... :)

i think cheap is bad quality,i buy mercia gel but i did"t like so now i only use good products i don"t waste me money any more.i use everyting from NSI and i love it:)

I've been fiddling around with The Edge products as I'm gonna use them in an upcoming teaching job and there not too bad............. not too good either! Oh and I still use Christrio gels and still love them for nail art and embedding.

The only time I use 'cheaper' products is if I spot a special on nice smelling scrub/creams for manicure/pedicure.

every once in awhile i'll grab something "cheap" if i run out between orders or if im running low just to be safe. not too long ago i got a trial kit of ASP l&p (from sallys) in a goodie bag so i tried it, i was acutally really impressed with the product. the color was awesome and it was pretty nice to work with. i used it on myself, no lifting, no discoloring, it wore very well. I dont think its really that cheap though, i did the math and its about the same as what i pay for my NSI products, its just sold in much smaller quantities so it seems cheaper. either way, its good to know if im ever in a jam theres a quick product i can grab that'll do the job!
