Hi, I am very interested in doing some courses e.g. tanning, eyelash extensions, massages, manicure/pedicure but I have never done a one of these courses before and im not quite sure where to start and what I should be looking for....

Is there a company that offers training that is known for being very good? Should I be looking for courses that are accredited by a certain company in order to get insured???

I would be so grateful for any help or advice

Thank you

Do you plan on doing a full-time or part-time course?

I was looking for Part time courses

I just cant decide where to start!!

What are your most popular treatments?
What would you recommend I train in first in order to get going?
Any advice would be great
Thank you

Spray tanning is probably the easiest one to learn,
summer will be back again soon so it will be a busy time for tans again,
you can then earn some money to help pay for the other courses you want to do, hth

You might need to do a full time beauty therapy course! Depending on what GCSE's you had will determin the level you start at. Also if your over 19 and not on any benefits you will have to pay the enrolement fee which isn't cheap. Plus the kit.

Also if you wanted to do just little part-time courses like a nail technician course. I think you have to know basic manicure (level 1)

Look in salon windows, they usually offer training. Also Ellisons do as well.

Hope i helped

The accreditation relates to the company you want to be insured by. For example, Guild accreditation means that you can become insured by the Guild.

All of the insurers have different policies, so we have to put our own accreditation in place in order to meet our specific requirements.

Hi, I would recommend companies that are offering VTCT and Beauty Guild accredited courses.

I am starting off in a similar way to yourself and I have started with spray tanning. It is reasonably easy to get the hang of (certainly compared with some other treatments) and the start up costs aren't bad, so you have a quick return on your investment. I have been so much busier than I expected to be and only been doing it since Aug.
Good luck xxx
