Morning Geeks,
Im a newbie and have been looking for weeks where to go and start my all important training....after deciding to completely change my career.
I was reading the thread Basic Course Content and heard that on google many of the larger name schools were not coming up.

I have found The Beauty Academy in Cambs and thought this looked like a good place to start.

Where did you guys train and where are the recommended training schools??

Help!! Its a minefield and I want this first step to be the best possible!

As this is in the Nail section I'm assuming it's nail tech training you're looking for? A quick search using the tab at the top with bring up loads of threads with great advice re which educator to go with.

I personally opted for Creative (CND) training and I am so glad I did but as it's the only company I have ever dealt with, I cannot comment on any others, of which there are quite a few :) Good luck finding somewhere to train

Well Ive got to say the beauty academy. Call them and that will put your mind at rest. They do NVQ there too so standards are very high and they work with top of the range products. Creative is top range too of course. hth. message me if you like.

Thanks for the feedback girls...it looks like the Beauty Academy then I think as the CN place doesnt seem to work acrylic...just gel or is this the same??Im not sure sorry but I used to have sculpted acrylics all the time and would love to be able to offer that service.

Its so hard to find a place to start!!

hi there, now it has been a few years since I done any training but when I started out my friend started at the same time but we went down different roads. I choose private training with Creative as I wanted a well know name behind me my friend opted for a college course. At the end of her college course she felt she had no support as problems or queries cropt up:irked: where as I on the other hand had all the support and advice I needed just a phone call away.
hope this helps it can be a mind field out there

hi the best advice i can give you is go for a course that is spread over more days than less, i did a 3 day course and covered all types of nails in that time, i had no expeience in the nail indusrty and really struggled to progress. I am currently in the middle of doing a foundation course with creative and it is the best thing i ever did the training is excellant and the course is spread over 5 days so the tutor gets to see your progress and can support you anytime even after the training. hope this has helped you.
