Which is the best spray tan?

I am thinking of offering spray tans but after looking at the market I am sooo confused!!!

I originally though of St Tropez - popular, well heard of, used by celebs etc
Also Fake Bake ad Celebrity secrets

But theres an ad above us - LA Tanning - that looks good......

Bugger...too much choice....

What do you geeks recommend?

I recommend Couture spray tan, its a lovely colour comes in two shades Romantic glow 8% and romantic bronze 10% it smells lovely and a long lasting colour. I have been using couture for 2 years and im in love with it :lol:

Hi, Got to say Couture Tan it smells lovely, comes in two shades, however word on the street is that they are looking at bringing out an even darker solution in the near future. They also have a lovely range of pre care and after care products which are very reasonably priced, however Instant Bronze (gives you an instant colour, and you can make the tan as dark or as light as you want) and Ultimate Shimmer (gives you a lovely golden shimmer) are fantastic! You can use them together or individually. We sell LOTS of it, again really reasonably priced and smells divine!
Training is really reasonable too try looking at their web site or phone their office for more details.

i love using Tantrick,
and i offer a guarantee to my clients that it will not turn them orange or streaky because this is how much i trust Tantricks solutions.

You are best to get some samples to try out or if you don't have the equipment to try them out go around and have spray tans applied to your self and see which you like, hth :hug:

BUT... customers can't choose which brand because they dont know what they are like most of the time... a lot of my customers have never had a tan before and wouldnt know one brand from another, no point offering them a choice of different solutions to choose from, all they are interested in is not being tangoed at the end of the day! I dont even let them choose the % that I spray! lol lol well, not the first time anyway...:green:

Try a few samples on various people and see which one you like working with & go with it.....

I dont really advertise 'the brand' i advertise spray tanning....I use products that i like and that i know work....

I will always try something new but i didnt choose to carry all different brands...the clients dont tend to ask for the brand i just get asked for a spray tan.

What is the best spray tan....mmmthis is really one of those unanswerable questions as you do need to find the one that suits you :hug:

Ring around..get a feel for the company ....asking for samples doesn't really help as without a system ..well erm..how the heck will you apply it.
The best thing is having contacted a few companies select the top two favorite possibilities and then go get spray tanned by each of the finalists..the supplier should be able to search their data base to find the nearest salon to you.

What does tend to happen is that a supplier or brand is chosen...and over a period of time you will request samples from other companies (as you can now use them) and you ,may well switch.

There are may therapists out there that carry more than one brand however when just starting of your best advised to keep things simple..one brand and as limited selection of solutions..until you gain experience and consequential confidence that naturally follows.

Once there it is important to offer a selection of concentrates so as to best match skin types and customers specific requirements rather than simply "forcing" a one solution fits all kind of policy.

i absoloutly swear by St Tropez! it has guide colour so you see were you are going and it doesnt go orange like most tans do as it has a green pigment in to stop orangness

This thread is just going to confuse the life out of you as we all like different lotions so you wont get an exact answer.

So what i would suggest is pick one of the brands to train with the best ones i could suggest is Couture, Sienna x and Tantrick these are the ones that i think are most popular (Just my opinion) And go train with them as all their training is equally high quality and you will find that the company you train with you will most probably like their lotion if not you are able to get samples from other companies

All the more reason to give the customers a choice as i don't like St.Tropez and if i went to a salon that only did St.tropez then i wouldn't have a tan and would go elsewhere. I like the colour of the St.Tropez lotion that is applied by hand but the spray tan colour i just do not like. I use Celebrity Secrets (my personal fave), Fake Bake and Coco Bay but i am phasing Coco Bay out. Have some samples from Sienna X arriving this week and have tried a few others.

All our clients LOVE Couture Tan, we have lots of weekly repeat business, and they are made up with the natural colour. We also get a lot of referrals, and yes we also trust Couture Tan that much we give a guarantee too. x
Get samples and see what you think, I'm sure if you phone the Head Office of Tanning companies then they will happily give you a demo. XX

I use St tropez and Sienna x and I love both. I have my hardcore St tropez-ers who will not try anything different. I use Sienna x for those who are new to tanning or nervous (their 8% is brilliant for these clients) and I love the smell of sienna x.

I also highly recommend Tantrick - especially the essence of summer one!

I personally do not like the fake bake colour on me, but thats a personal thing.

Hi, I recently decided to try new solutions and went for Sienna X and Tantrick - I've found both great and will now probably stock both (if my marketing pays off!) x

Like most other people have suggested, I rang round the suppliers or emailed via spraytansupermarket website. I then tested all the samples on family and friends, rated them by colour, smell, longevity, fading and also by cost. We originally carried two brands but over time customers kept chosing one in particular and that is all we stock now.

Takes a bit of time, however it will help you to make a concise and balanced choice doing it this way.
