Hi,I got my first job in a salon with level 2 beauty and level 3 massage.I told them at the interview that I would be going back to college to do a level 3 though.

There are salons that are quite happy to take therapists on with just a level 2.Indeed there was another girl at my salon with just a level 2 and who had no intentions in doing her level 3.

It would be better for you to do a level 3 because the beauty industry is such a fast moving industry with lots and lots of equipment to do many different jobs.

It would open up many doors for you but dont lose hope because as I said, should you decide not to do a level 3,there are employers who will take level 2 girls on.

I will add, that it is pretty important for you to do a level 3 in massage though as these are very popular and it gives you a much better insight into the human body.It would be a nuisance if a salon had a therapist who couldn't carry out massage.HTH

Although you did quite alot of treatments on your level 2 course, you will find that the beauty industry thinks (and I dont know why) that Level 2 is like the basics of beauty, whilst the L3 you are fully qualified.

I know what you mean and how you feel - I am in your shoes.

Saying all the above, it would be more than ok for some salons to employ you with your L2 qualfications...

I suppose it depends how ambitious you are and where you want to go in the future. You obviously are employable now but it will limit the jobs you can go for just having level 2.Also as time goes on you may not have the inclination to return to learning. My view would be go all the way and get fully qualified now.

deffo need level 3 sweetpea, youre more inclined to get a job with it rather than without it.
