Hiya All

Im new to this site and also new to being a Nail Tech, but would like to know which products are best to use when doing them on customers??

Im mainly doing Acrylic nails but which tips are best to use, Im using Well-less tips at the moment and White tips.

Which is the best Acrylic Liquid and also White and Pink acrylic powder, and also good glue. I passed with Essential Nails but Im not a massive fan of there products and would like to order them from somewhere else really.

Also where is the best place to order nail art from?? Im after quite a bit of nail art things and not sure where is best to shop online?? Any help would be greatly appreciated girls !!!

To be honest, the best products to use are ones that you have been trained to use. It is not a case that all products work in exactly the same way....... I can tell you what I use and therefore what I feel to be the best (CND) but to use their products you need to do a CND training course which with EN training will need to be a Foundation Course.

Most of the high-end products will require you to do product based training, and the generic products that you can buy off the shelf will probably be no better than the EN products you are using at the moment..... If you are having specific problems let us know what they are and we may be able to help, or ask EN for their advice. As a new tech it may not all be down to the product.....

Regarding tips, I use well-less tips from Pro Impressions and you can buy them online. IMO they are great - thin, flexible and good value for money. The adhesive I use is Gelbond also from CND.

I'm sorry I've not been more help, but IMO Essential Nails training does not equip you to be a working nail tech, and one of the reasons is that you do not have a trainer to ask these kind of questions of.

CND are the best by far, their products are great quality, their image is classy and they are the world leaders in the industry

CND products are the only products i work with but you do need to be CND trained, i would do a conversion course with them!

Thanks for the advice guys, I may do a conversion course. I think Essential nails are good but I agree with not having someone there to ask these questions.

I am doing really well with my acrylic nails which I learnt through them but i am struggling with the gels now, i think it can be helpful to have someone there on hand to show you how to do it.

Hi blondie80, perhaps this article will help to look around and choose:

Iryna Giblett - Nail Art: Choosing nail products for the salon

CND is I understand the market leader in the UK, but other companies are market leaders in other countries. Best to do your own research and get enough information to make an informed decision to suit you.

Why don't you go to Olympia Beauty in London on Sept 20 and 21, and visit some stands to try their products? Perhaps you will also be able to buy at show offer price.

I have to agree with the above....I was unsure of what L&P system to go for as I was not happy with the products I had trained with...I went along to the Excel Beauty show and spent a long time talking to one of the representatives from NSI (which I was interested in) they showed me the product, demonstrated the shades and also let me sculpt a nail to get a feel for it myself.....very informative and I havent looked back since and my customers love it.
