Hi Geeks

When waxing, i've always used talc after my pre-wax cleanse and before applying the warm wax, as i was taught. I've noticed on a few threads that lots of you are using oil in place of the talc and I would like to give this a try so can you tell me what kind of oil i should use and how best to apply?

Thanks all xx

There are many brands of pre wax oil on the market, all of which will do the job perfectly well. For ages I used a tiny smear of grapeseed oil but now I use Perron Rigot's Jasmine oil. You don't need a lot; you're not dressing a salad! Put a little bit into your palm, rub your hands together so that they're evenly coated, and rub them over your client's skin. If the wax slides about a bit blot the area with a tissue and start again. If the skin begins to look dry, apply a little more oil. You'll very quickly gauge how much that particular client needs.
It helps to make the whole waxing experience much less uncomfortable for your client for which they will thank you by returning time and again!

Yes I use Jasmine Oil too (different brand though) and you only need a tiny bit, rub your hands together and dab them on the couch roll to get rid of any access oil and then rub the area to be waxed.
The oil not only creates a barrier between skin and wax (so you dont pull the skin but only the hairs to be removed) but it also aids in easy release of the hair. A lot of customers and clients have complimented this and confirmed that it does make a difference to the comfort!

I use Jasmine Oil but you can always use a tiny tiny amount of baby oil to see how you get on, then order the real stuff. xxx

think i'll have a go on myself first, anything that reduces pain sounds great to me:green:

thanks everyone xxx

I am new to waxing and I find that after using the warm wax on legs it can leave them a bit sticky even after applying the aftercAre soothing cream.... Can I rub them down with babyoil before applying the cream to get rid of the sticky feeling? I use hot wax on bikini on underarm and find this leaves a lovely clean finish but to keep my clients costs down and time efficiency I prefer warm wax on legs. Any help would be much appreciated x

After all my waxing treatments I apply some of my Jasmine oil to the area and use a clean paper strip to remove the oil with any residual wax then just cleanse and use your usual post waxing creams..
