Hello all!!

I opened my own salon a few months ago and now looking for a new skin care range.I really liked the sound of darphin so I had a rep come over a visit my salon. She told me i should be so grateful to have such an amazing product as it is better than any other skin care range. She left me samples which I used myself and on a few family members and 2 out of the 4 of us had allergic reactions!?has anyone else had any problems with these products?are they as good as she said or was i just unlucky with the people i used them on!?anyone point me in the right direction of natural skincare ranges i can try?:)

I use Decleor in my salon - another of the French skin care houses specialising in skincare using plant extracts & essential oils. I've tried & used a lot of ranges professionally, but Decleor has always been my favourite.

I use products that go transdermally and would have a higher chance of reactions but luckily in 12 years never had a client react to a product.

I am not completley up to date on darphin but I know they contain plant extracts which will penetrate deep into the skin.

A reaction and not necerserily it being an 'allergic' reaction can happen for various reasons. The skin may not have been clean or another product used could have reacted with the ingredients in the darphin products causing a reaction. You can also see skin react to a product as it tries to heal itself. I find clients that are former clinique users become sensitised to any other product and it takes them quite a while to normalise their skin.

I would call your rep and ask her advise as she may have the actual reason to why. It may be worth checking the products you used were in date too.

I have heard daprhin are very good, but if you are not going to be confident with prescribing it to clients look at another skincare range, theres certainly plenty out there.

As to which skincare company will depend on what you want to offer clients. If you want a results driven range or a luxury 'fluffy' range. Theres three catergories of clients, those that want results and want to feel results during a facial such as peeling and microdermabrasion, and then their are the clients who are not that serious about results but want to see them regardless but what to relax during the facial, and then theres the clients who just want a relaxing facial whilst thinking that they are preventing the aging process taking over!

I Prefer MD Formulations. Danne Montague King. Nimue. Karin Herzog (although the british distributor is awful). Yonka. Dr Haushka. Jan Marini etc to name just a few.
