Hi Peeps, having fun this morning practicing my custom blends.
Trying the Reverse Fill, can you please clarify

(a) prep, apply zone 3, then cut down free edge, shape smile line, and sculpt new zone 1 or
(b) prep, cut down free edge and shape, apply zone 3 then zone 1

I have gone and got myself all so confused reading past threads and cannot see the wood for the trees:cry:

Thanking you

I thin down product, prep, prime apply product to zone 3 bringin the bead into zone 2 swipe in new smile line, apply product to zone 1 and refine the enhancement
hope that helps you chick

thank you, I am doing l&p, and I had read that the free edge is completely removed ie cut off so that you can file in a smile line - great if you are going to change the free edge colour. The steps to do this technique was what I was really after. Thank you so much for your input.

thank you deb,

i was also wondering this as i dont have an e file so i was wondering what you hand file geeks do.
do you file down zone 1 completely and sculpt a new one or do you thin down the product in all 3 zones and the re apply? or is there a different way?
any info would be much appreciated thanks.x

Well it depends:)
And you don't really need to file down or cut of zone one.
OK I'm faced with a prepped nail, at this point I have to decide if I'm extending the natural nail bed or not. If not I pick up my bead apply to zone 3 while holding the finger in a slightly downward angle and gently use my brush to push/pat the product down to zone 2. While my product is still soft I shape my smile with my brush. When completely hardened if I need to I shape with my file and then I fit my form and my first bead for zone 1 is small and clear. This is so that when it comes to re balance time I can take zone 1 down to my clear level and add what ever colour I want over the top.
Now when it comes to changing my nails or doing a re balance I file down as for any other service, taking zone 1 down to clear. Then I apply as before, zone 3 into zone 2, create my new smile with my brush, then zone 1. If zone 1 goes over zone 2 and my smile, no problem when I file and shape my smile line is reveled when I get rid of the excess product.
If I am going to extend my nail bed then I fit the form first, and bring my bead down on to the form and shape the smile the same as before.
I hope this explanation is clearer to you then it seems to me and I hope it helps:lol:

thanks for that susie.x
im actually doiing my own nails using the reverse method and im doing a gel natural nail overlay so when its time for me to rebalance do i need to file all 3 zones down and almost start from scratch or do i just file zone 1 and partly zone 2 but leave most of the bulk there for my apex? if that makes sense.x
