Hi

I sprayed a lady on Sunday and she has just called to say that she has exfoliated and now has a big white patch on her chest. I asked if she scrubbed very hard and she said no.

I asked if you wanted another spray as she is going away tomorrow and she is coming over this afternoon. I am not sure whether to charge her or not as I think she thinks it is my fault as I told her to start exfoliating on about day 4 so that the tan fades evenly. I didn't tell her to exfoliate on day 3 and scrub really hard but don't want to lose clients.

What should I do, do I charge or not?

I always get a patch in my chest too before the rest of the tan fades and it is always down to my bra rubbing.
Did she have rather ample bossoms? The bones in big bras come up alot higher and thats where the tan goes.

No, I think she probably rubbed a bit hard in the shower.

I have decided to spray her for free anyway, I want my clients to be happy and I do feel partly responsible as I did tell her to exfoliate (even though she did it a bit too early). I will learn from this though and make sure that I tell clients not to rub too hard when the exfoliate and not to do it before Day 5.

to be fair i wouldnt spray her for free. Has she had a tan before? Offer to do it half price as a comprimise. If you give away too much it will be expected next time.

Yep, you are right. I am being too soft. I will do it for half price and hopefully she will be pleased with that.

I don't understand why you are telling her to exfoliate so the tan wears off evenly,
if she treats her skin gently when showering and moisturises every day the tan should fade naturally and evenly,
only when the tan looks to have gone and they want a respray do we advise to exfoliate before the new tan,
and this is just to rid any dry skin areas (which most wouldn't have after moisturising every day) hth

Sienna X instructions state to exfoliate on day 5 to ensure even wear as tan fades

Exactly as Lemmonie says, Sienna X advise to do this on about Day 5 so that the tan fades evenly. Although I am now going to be more careful with my advise and only suggest to exfoliate IF the tan is fading unevenly or if they want another tan. You live and learn!

Anyway, the client came back this afternoon, it has faded on her chest but it was a straight line so its obvious it was from her natural tan. I sprayed her again, charged her half price and she is a very happy client now. So its all good!
