Hi geeks, i have a strange thing going on, my white powder is behaving so strange, and looks wierd as well. Basicaly when I look at the actual powder it looks like the grains of powder are realy big, like very fine sugar, the pink is not like this, when I pick up a bead the grains of powder are not absorbing properly. I can see them in the bead and its not running as if too wet but its not too dry ether, I am thinking my white has some how become contaminated. I have some reserve white powder and I am going to use this tomorrow, it has been noticable past two or three clients, the powder looks strange when i am placing it on the nail like the big grains are not absorbing in to the liquid, I have tried a bit wetter and drier, no difference big grains still there. I have tried leaving it on there longer before working it too, still the same. Is this something I have done, I feel realy stupid posting this, I feel I should know what is wrong with it, please help me out I use CND. When this doesnt happen I am proud to say my mix ratio is good, and my product has never let me down. I have not got to dry as it sounds becuse when i am doing it wetter it is too wet and the grains are still there xxxxxx

The things I think about is:

1. file dust, if you have file dust in there, it would look like small grains and will never absorbe the monomer. So always keep the powder covered when not in use, and when using make sure there's not much file dust around.

2. spilt monomer, If you have spilt a teeny drop of monomer a few times, I bet that could cause some grains too. This option is less likely IMO though..

HTH

Many technicians have the BAD habit of picking up a bead and then tapping excess powder off the brush and back into the powder. The tiny amount of monomer that this tapping releases combines with the powder grains to form tiny beads .... so if you have this nasty habit then stop doing it. :D

LOL so number 2 was actually more likely, I never tab so couldn't imagine how the monomer could get in there... Thanks..

Thanks for your help. I will scrap that pot of powder and use a new one, think its likely I have managed to contaminate it. Thanks again xx
