Hi all

Just after some help. I am trying to write a note to let clients know (which will go up in the salon and put on my website) that I will be charging a depost for treatments over either a certain time or price. As i have had a lot of no shows recently.
So my question is how to word it without offending new or regular clients as it is something i have not done before?
Also do you do it for certain time or price as i don't want clients to think I am being greedy.
What do you do in your salon?

Any help welcome.

Thanks
Kirsty

In our salon we give each person 3 chances before we take full payment for the treatment.
If you are going to be taking deposits then personally I would charge for half of the treatment.
It is so annoying when they cancel last minute or just don't show up!!! Its a pet hate of mine. I hope it works well for you xxx

Or, you can post a note on the wall or on the reception desk stating by such and such date in the future (three months is sufficient, two months could work) that the salon policy is changing to the effect of such and such amount of deposit (like 50% of cost of services)... somewhere put in there a thank you and appreciation of business.

Some salons I know have clients give their credit card number and details to the salon when booking appointments, then have them sign a release when they come in to authorize permission for them to take 20% or 50% of their missed service off their card without the cancellation etiquette they discussed.

There has to be respect in any relationship.... a give and take.... you are to be there available to perform the tasks requested of you......... they need to show up for the appointment they asked for. If one doesn't hold up their end , there isn't a relationship.
