Yes, Sweet squared aren't doing shows for now, they do have the Event which you can find about on the CND lovers group and I think there is a thread on the forum too.

Only they can answer this question really....best to ring them and ask....but for now I'll try and give why i "think" they don't based on what i have read on here....basically i think its because they decided that that money they spend on doing these shows could be better used elswhere...thats why they started doing "The Event" .. It also means they have bigger control on who is buying as many that attend the shows are not even trained.

The Event is IMO a much better idea....you get so much value for money and the buzz is amazing.

You can still purchase via Sweet Square's website and they still do special offers on the website...just as there was at the shows.....much better cos its all year round and not just at show time.

Ah that's a shame, I order off the sweet squared website but nothing beats holding the products, seeing how big they are etc etc (just like ordering clothes off the internet, u just don't know what u buying really)

i'm confused with how the shows are going to go.
its either gonna collapse altogether or something radical will have to happen to attract the exhibitors back otherwise the trade will just stop attending.

I haven't been to one in 3 years...got sick of the cheapo stalls selling plastic handbags and everything else thats totally irrelevant to a beauty trade show.

It would be a shame if the shows died off I used to love going but I now a lot of the larger companies are not exhibiting I can't see them surviving

I like shows. But also don't like booths seling totally inappropriate products - which are just space fillers because the organizers couldn't sell to a relevant supplier. Nor, as a supplier now, do I appreciate shows which are flooded with students to make the visitor number up (I'm not against students - but usually not many are studying nails).

A well organised show has to give you a reason to come - not only to see suppliers and hopefully pick up a few bargains, but also to get good free and diverse education from workshops.

It's also a good chance to see new products and these demonstrated, meet people and get an impression of how the suppliers are doing by their stand size or lack of appearance.

What I don't enjoy is being ripped off for cruddy food and 'educational workshops' that are purely product sell.

The best shows I've been to are in Russia (they do a lot of on-stage entertainment and have workshops by top nail artists), Premier Orlando (many suppliers, generally decent workshops, terrific location), Beauty International in Germany (very many suppliers and totally professional show).

has anyone actually seen how many nail relatated stands there are going to be this year...hardly any!!! no ezflow, no kinetics, no jessica, no opi..... actually i think there was only about 4 when i last looked....they were nsi, millenium, palms and pro impressions....there may be more now i am not sure. its sad its gone this way but i can understand why.
I am still going to support my friend who is competing. I hope people still attend to compete though

I think Angie answered very well on our behalf - thanks Angie .

We hear you Emma Louise. Bagpuss was correct - we do The Event because we havent done the shows for coming up to 3 years. Many reasons why but again... we felt that the thousands of pounds it costs to do a show could be better spent on on our customers. The first Event was an industry first and was so enjoyed by our customers that we felt this was a better direction for us and them (you).

Education, party, products galore, inspirational industry leaders - fun - 1o1 time - learning... everything. The shows have taken a different direction but that doesnt mean we will never not do shows. We have just chosen not to do them right now.

When it right for us and for you we will but we wont do them how we used to do them... we would do it very differently. I hope this helps and please call us for more May 1/2 Event info.:!:
