I like shows. But also don't like booths seling totally inappropriate products - which are just space fillers because the organizers couldn't sell to a relevant supplier. Nor, as a supplier now, do I appreciate shows which are flooded with students to make the visitor number up (I'm not against students - but usually not many are studying nails).
A well organised show has to give you a reason to come - not only to see suppliers and hopefully pick up a few bargains, but also to get good free and diverse education from workshops.
It's also a good chance to see new products and these demonstrated, meet people and get an impression of how the suppliers are doing by their stand size or lack of appearance.
What I don't enjoy is being ripped off for cruddy food and 'educational workshops' that are purely product sell.
The best shows I've been to are in Russia (they do a lot of on-stage entertainment and have workshops by top nail artists), Premier Orlando (many suppliers, generally decent workshops, terrific location), Beauty International in Germany (very many suppliers and totally professional show).
