Why did this perform better than my usual l&p?

Some of you may recall my trials and tribulations with my little old lady who has diabetes and lupus and various other stuff wrong with her, bless her heart, and on whom I have lots of lifting problems. (She also bleaches her dishcloths but anyway . . .)

Last time I visited her, I did a completely new set of overlays for her and because I've had such lifting probs with my trusty Ezflow, which suits everyone else, I took along United Beauty's free sample of Fusion and used that on her nails.

How amazed was I today to see her for her maintenance appointment and barely any lifting in sight.

Why would that be?? I am so gobsmacked I can't tell you. I mean, they are the same length as they always were, the same gap between maintenance appointments, she says she has done nothing different, so then why?

I even double checked the bottle to make sure Fusion didn't have MMA in it. (It hasn't.)

MMA is even less attracted to the natural nail than the crappiest EMA product. The only reason it seems to stick better is because users of MMA shred the crap out of the natural nail during their 'prep' procedures. ON a shredded nail, ANYTHING sticks well.

Anyhoo - know that doesn't help with your question, however my only offering since I don't use either systems is that you are working in a different ratio than your normal system (which isn't uncommon).

HTHs

some acrylics do stick better than others

I too have found this with the very very occasional client, I have 1 such client on my books at the mo, they can wear one brand of l/p and not another but I don't know why either.......maybe it's just one of those things. I've never been able to fathom it!

As it's your usual system she can't tolerate, I don't think it would be a ratio issue :)

In my life I have had 1 client who can't wear EzFlow and 1 client who could't wear CND....perchance it is/was something I was doing but I have no idea what!

Thank goodness I'm not alone then Cathie, it was good to hear that lol

I just can't figure it out at all, but I'm mighty pleased, this lady is so lovely but I've felt like such a crappy nail tech (thank goodness I do the nails of some of her relatives so she knows the usual standard of my work).

These things are so odd

How strange, however the important bit is you found an answer:hug:

It's very strange isn't it.

I have a client who has lifting with my normal brnd & I had a free sample of NSI attraction, which I used to use years ago.
I followed my normal prep routine and used the sample & hey presto, lifting is almost a thing of the past with this client.
She has also stopped oiling too:eek:, which seems to help!!!?

I had prepped well and used a scrubfresh, nail fresh, scrubfresh & primer routine, but she still had lifting before.
I've no idea why one works & the other doesn't.

Down to individual body chemistry maybe? As the nail plate is porous???:confused:

I truely believe everyone is different and fusion obviously suits her and her lifestyle.....
