Hi geeks. Thankfully I have managed to retain my new client who had rather bad pocket lifting. (My problem is that I dont know what to say to my clients if there is a problem that I havent experienced before) After taking advise from professionals here everything worked out perfectly on that occasion, however, today when I did her rebalance she noticed that there was white smudge marks that looked like they were inside the acrylic in zone 1 near her tip, they werent there before. again I didnt know how to explain this away and still sound professional, do you think it could be from the brush? (truth is I dont know because I havent seen it berfore) any Ideas? and anyone think of an explaination that i can give her? thanks again Julie

Is this more pocket lifting?? The zone 1 is the tip so do you mean this whiteness is in zone two near to the tip?

My first thought was, do you use CND? If you ScrubFresh on tips they start to melt and it can look like smudge marks through the L and P.

Otherwise, how about mix ratio? Pocket lifting can be due to mix ratio and a wet ratio can cause the product to look marbled or smudged. HTH :)

thanks for both your comments, I do use CND and yes it does like like the tips are melting, but if this the case does it make sense after a rebalance and how can i avoid it happening again?
(Her original set were perfect and when she came back to me neither of us noticed the smudge marks before I did a rebalance) what can I say to her and should I replace the tips? thanks in advance Julie

Do one hand at a time. Scrub fresh it. Tip it. Put the L&P on then do the same to the other hand. You don't want the scrub fresh to get on the tips. So but doing one hand at a time you do not need to re-scrub the next hand before putting the L&P on.

Hi everyone. Because of the nails going green and the smudge marks my client decided to take off the acrylic and give them a rest, since then has returned onlly for Basic manicures. (Now she has another problem) not that i am saying it is her fault in any way but could really benefit from some more advice from you geeks.

After removing her polish yesterday i noticed the tips of almost all of her nails were either white or going white and seemed to be spreading, i suspect nail plate separation? if this is what it is how can this have happened with just manicures or could there be another reason it could happen and what can i tell her without frightening her off?

thanks in advance
Julie

Hi
I think the whiteness you are describing would be nail plate separation either due to trauma to the nail or possibly the filing? If your client has weak nails then she would be prone to damage. If she is not used to wearing enhancements or not used to a long length, this could mean she bashed the odd nail causing trauma to the free edge which may not have been evident straight away. If her nails are soft they may already be brittle and separate easily. My own free edges tend to do this from time to time if I'm not taking the right care of them. It may not be something you have done so don't lose heart but I think it's best to identify the problem before guaranteeing the cause. If she is coming back to you I don't think she is frightened off. If the whiteness was there when the polish came off then she will know herself it has happened out of the salon? I could just have a lot of faith but keep positive!

xx
