hi all, i have a lady booked in soon and she has the widest nail beds i have ever seen ! unfortunately they are too short to sculpt, any ideas on decent tips for these types of nails ( i normally use Asian which are really flexible but not big enough) ???

have you tried OPI expansion tips these are made for a flatter ,wider nail they have a winged contact area

how can nails be too short to sculpt? we sculpt on bitten nails, whereas no tip can be stuck...

i have looked at her nails ( very wide very flat and very deep side walls )and i choose not to sculpt, each to their own ???

How do you do it:?:

sculpt bitten nails? or wide nails?

you can oil the skin just infront of the free edge to elongate it enough to get a form under, personally i think its a lot of fannying around, also i think you can instantly get a better shape by saddling a tip, jmo

I hate tips lol... to me they're a waste of money as you need so many shapes and sizes to fit everyone, whereas with forms you can do what you want. but it's not the point, I know.

on bitten nails I usually do a simple reverse (first the pink, then the white), the pink being opaque and yes, I then put my form under, and do just a little french. never too long or it'll break before the client leaves.

sorry to be rude but i feel this thread has been diverted, CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND A NICE, VERY WIDE TIP ?

I used these tips at work ONCE, and they take forever to blend in (this is my opinion anyway)

I have a client with wide nail beds too, and it aint fun, but what I did, and it is abit time consuming was, apply the tip (closest to fit), trim to length, then when you come to apply your white, put a form underneath the tip, then that way you can go over by a smidge.
