When I was having L&P on my own nails, it was predominantly so the polish would last two weeks. With enhancements, my polish stayed put.

Now, that I've tried Shellac, I will never look back! I get the two week FLAWLESS polish job + more free time, as I'm not having fills every two weeks.

Obviously, there will always be clients who need/want enhancements but do you think Shellac will replace enhancements for some of your clients?

I don't think it will replace gel for any of my clients. I am finding out that they just really don't care for the "standard" polished look anymore. They all want glitter, embedded art & 3D. Even my little old ranch wives!

Two of my clients, this week alone, have had their L&P enhancements soaked off and gone back to natural nails, and Shellac. They are loving it!!
I have gone back to my natural nails for the first time in 3 yrs and I am loving it!
For me, its a case of time. I have gotten so busy since moving my business, I haven't got the time to sit and do a new set on myself.
So Shellac is giving me a run for my money!!

Wearing Shellac and enjoying having my natural nails again is just the best for me. :D

It has made me realize that for 25 years I have really had more than I really needed from enhancements; more strength than I needed for sure. I could have survived with much less strength than the enhancements gave me. Now Shellac has given me the perfect solution; it is enough strength & flexibility for my nails not to break and stay looking perfect. Shellac gives the surface of my nails the polish and shine and smoothness that I am used to with enhancements (that I love).

I have loved wearing enhanced nails, but have never been extravagant with length and certainly not nail art ... don't like either. I love my nails looking well groomed and well ... lady like. Wearing any nails (enhanced or not) too long and with too much stuff on them does not appeal to my sense of style.
In the UK at any rate, there has been a big move in the last few years towards the 'model' length neat and well groomed look.

So to answer your question, :D .... yes I think there will be others like me who will love the change to Shellac and there will be others who just need all the whistles and bells that enhancements provide them.

The most important thing to remember for your BUSINESS is that there are 85% of women out there that do not have any nail services. They may have a manicure now and again and then be disappointed because they 'ding' or spoil one of their newly polished nails (it only takes one) and think manicures are not worth going to the salon and paying for so they do their own nails. THESE are the ones we want as NEW customers in our businesses. They will not be disappointed in the results they get from Shellac. Shellac will help your business grow and get women back into the salon for a service that lasts and with no damage to her natural nails.

Don't just promote to and use Shellac on your existing clients ... get out there and market this service to the NEW customers. My God ... The news about Shellac is ALL OVER the place ............ you have more help than ever before from the beauty press .... take advantage of it and shout from the rooftops that you have Shellac in your salon.

In 2 weeks of doing Shellac, I've had:-

4 it trying it out - they've been wanting to move away from soak of gels but not had anything to move to. Another one who is just waiting for her appointments to run out before she moves over, but having them on her toes already.

3 using it - they usually has soak offs a couple of times a year just when they go away, perfect for them (fingers & toes). At least 2 will carry on Im sure.

1 using it - who doesnt have anything as she just cant be bothered, she's emailing all the time saying how she's absolutely loving it. Also 2 of her friends are desperate to have it too now, they use nothing atm.

I've given up on soak offs as I just cant keep them on more than a week, Shellac's like a breath of fresh air for me!!!

Not bad for 2 weeks I think LOL
