Hi everyone I was just wondering, are you satisfied with you business and life in general. Do you ever think, if I was richer, I would be happy, if I was thinner, i would be happy, etc. Has anyone got to the point in their life when they think, yes I am satisfied, I have a good job, nice house etc and yeah life is good. I dont mean as in thinking oh I have done everything I want i will stop setting goals but does anyone ever think I muct be richer, have a better car, redecorate my place etc. But when you get these things you are still not happy and want more and more, like a viciouse circle. When we fight to survive that is different like when you must get a certian amount of money in to pay a bill or you will get evicted lol. I hope I am making sence her. xxxxxxx

I cant remember ever not striving for something more/ better. I am always looking ahead and cant see myself ever changing!
I was only this afternoon looking at photo's of myself when I was 20, (pre-baby!) and I was never ever happy with my figure and always so self conscious, looking back now though I'd kill to have that figure back! Why could I not see it and enjoy it when I had it!? I suppose as the saying goes, 'you dont know what you've got till its gone!'!
Nowadays I'm always trying to get more money/ work, I'm waiting for the day to come that I'll be happy with my work- thats my biggest goal!

Yes, you are making complete sense :D

I think most of us are like this and I know I'm guilty of saying "I'll be happy when I have a new house".... but what happens when I get the house of my dreams????

Will I be happy????

Nah... I'm a woman... I'm never flippin happy :wink2:

Maby its the survival instinct gone into over drive, when we have all we need we go on to getting the urges to have all we want too lol xxxxx

IMHO, happiness comes from within. I truly believe we have to be happy with ourselves, first. Yeah, a beautiful home is nice, as is money, no financial worries, etc. BUT, if we are not happy within, these material things don't really matter.

I think its always good to have goals something to aim for!

My ex used to say i was never content...i say i have ambition. x

i like to have something to aim for, but what happens when i get there? i aim for something else!
i must say i'd like someone to share this ambition with, to pay off my car, and to work my way up in the salon, for now. i don't think it's too unrealistic!

I am very ambitious and I do always have a long list of things that I would like to acomplish.

For me the feeling of contentment when your life is balanced is something that I strive for. Life never seems to stay balanced for long though. There is always something to challenge us financially, emotionally or health wise. I find that the most peace I find is not by looking forwards as I spend most of my life looking this way, but taking 5 minutes to look backwards at the things I have done and overcome in the past years. This is when I feel some sense of achievement and also find some real drive to go for things in the future.

I dont strive to be in a particular place (ie live in a certain place with a certain car and a certain type of man and all the trimmings) but I do strive to have that balanced content feeling as often as possible. Sometimes it requires more money, sometimes more free time sometimes more fun and sometimes more learning, but keeping it balanced is my goal in general.

Having run the gamut of being poor/ rich/ thin/fat, I can confirm that there is no point at which I sat back smugly and felt "this is it, I've arrived!"

I think the human condition is to always strive for more, whether it is material goods or knowledge.
