How has she managed to NOT snap any before now ?

They are mental looking - but fascinating - wouldn't fancy doing an overlay or painting them bad boys - be on for hours!!!!

Bet it really hurt too.

Imagine how lazy she must have been ?

omg her fingers looked horrible !! uurgh

OHH MY LIFE!!! i have these images in my head on the many alternative solutions she can perform when going about her daily living before the steering wheel broke them....tricks with loo roll springs to mind:lol:

That lady came to the UK last year and was on quite a few tv programs and on I think the 'this morning' show they set her challenges on doing so many household duties that they didnt think she would be able to do like washing dishes and peeling potatoes but she did manage to do them all.

What is a little intriguing is that she was on tour in the UK as she was due to have all her nails cut because her husband was becoming housebound and she needed to care for him, so doesnt look like the intended nail cuts ever happened!

I wouldnt have liked to do her manicure, can you imagine if you snapped one??!!!

I saw her on the Ellen show doing household chores and pretending to wash her hair with a spaghetti spoon , she even demonstrated how she used loo roll

I wince evertime I see that picture. The eponychium and sidewalls look so heavy its almost like a film special effect the way the nails seem to sprout. I wonder if that is down to years of nipping or if thats happened naturally to support the weight of her nails.

That said my thoughts are with her and her family. I hope she recovers.......

Very sorry she got hurt in a crash, but it's about time those nails went.

They're unsightly:eek: My eyes hurt looking at them.

she'd been growing them since 1979 and was in the Guiness book of World records!

"Their combined length was more than 28ft (8.5m), with the longest nail - on her right thumb - measuring 2ft 11in (89cm)", Guinness said.

Lee Redmond was also from that very special place Utah, Salt Lake City - wonder who else comes from there??????:green:

I'm sorry to hear that this lady has been injured.

But, why would anyone want to have monstrosities like that impeding your life.
What makes people do & want things like this?

I remember that too T, and was amazed that she managed to do anything at all. I think she said it took her hours to paint them as well, can you imagine how many bottles of enamel she would need!

I hope she recovers soon.

Thats what I was thinking. They don't look real. It looks really odd.

I was just wondering if she came into a salon for a gel overlay what on earth would she be charged , I think I did hear somewhere that she gets a gel overlay done and she also has them repaired too if needed ,

they are very strange but also very facinating at the same time,
I remember noticing they sort of went to one side a little bit on a TV show and thats how she managed to do stuff ,

I suppose she can earn a few bob on those TV shows , guess thats why she keeps them ,
they seem as if they are actually curly though

I do hope she gets better soon ,

i remember reading that she painted her nails with topcoat or strengthener everyday and that it took her 4 hours!

and she gives her grandchildren haircuts!

how anyone can cut hair with her nails....

this picture is quite a good one for showing them..

:)

Well there's no way they would be gel overlays - she wouldn't be able to get them in the lamp - maybe a sunbed perhaps.

this accident (i hope she wasnt hurt too badly tho) could have been the best thing for her nails - they is urgly - surely once she was in the guiness world of records, she could have cut them down to a working length - as you said, she must have been lazy - maybe now she will learn how to use domestic appliances lol - i couldnt get on to the link that you posted carl, so couldnt read it, she wasnt seriously hurt was she

way too freaky for me ,ugly ugly how can she do anything
and sorry but how can she wipe her bottom
o and why do her cuticles look so swell and puffy

Lol :) perhaps she meant L&P then ,
but I remember her saying she gets an overlay and repairs done ,

but underneath they are her natural nails ,

I think there is an old man with long nails like that too,

I think she would be much happier if she could try and enjoy her life without them :) who knows ,
