Personally I would make a laminated sign with TREATMENT IN PROGRESS FINISHED AT.....written on it then use black marker and put the time on each time you are carrying out treatment.This is what I do in my salon when door is shut and I cant go to door.

The client will then see the sign and wait in car or wherever.When a therapist is on their own(which I often was in old salon)I would lock door and put sign on door.You may wish to put on the sign please do not disturb as well.

Clients will soon learn.I used to go to a sports massage therapist who had home salon and she had no message on her door or anything.I just waited in car when I got no answer on her front door the first time I arrived.Hth x

Just an idea, but how about leaving 15 min gaps between appointments, ie;

Joe Bloggs 11- 12 - Waxing
Mrs Black 12.15 - 1 - Massage

If clients are early I tend to find its by 15 mins at most so this should hopefully cover that.
In the summer months have you got space to have a garden chair outside, maybe with a magazine on it?

Hi

I have a home salon and what I do is like someone said leave an extra 15 minute and sometime's it can't b helped but I have a chair in my hall, it's not a dinnering room chair it's a chair that looks like it should be there,,,, so that if some one is early they wait there and I p[ut some mag's.
