Does anyone know anything about working tax credits i know its based on your family income but does anyone know what you have to be earning under to recieve it and who all is entitled to help with child care. Also when your employed and self employed would you be entitle to more help, i never said to them that i had started my home salon back n october cause i didnt think it would change my tax credits as i my profit would be nil for the first year or even a loss but maybe it would be worth saying cause i currently do 16hrs in my job and at least 12 hours plus a week self employed. suppose i could ring inland renvenue and find out but just thought maybe someone would know who had been in this poaition. I currently pay an non registered child minder but she cant do it no more.

I don't know the site addy but if you google or do a search on here for working tax credits,
you will find that they have a website with a calculator on for you to work out what you would be entitled to,
this way you can find out for yourself without having to tell anyone anything you would rather keep to yourself hth

cheers louise:hug:

I can't offer any advice as I don't claim it but I do know that they won't pay for any childcare unless it is with a registered child minder. Try and do a search for registered ones in your area if you're looking for another one and then you'll get so much (if not all??) paid with the credits. hth's

its under £60K I think!

I use this site www.entitledto.com (or .co.uk) its a calculator so tells you roughly what your entitled to get!

If your childminder isnt registered they wont cover the childcare.

Just a world of advise you get more doing 30+ hours a week so take into account all the preparation etc that your self employed work requires and you may find you do a lot more than you think!

Thanks number 1 kitty, its really confusing as we get child tax credits but not working and we earn way below 60k not even half of it! yet i was told we cant recieve it, is this anything to do with me not changing my working hours you see i have job 2 days and work 1 full day in my home salon sometimes 2 and do 2 evenings a week which is usually 3 hrs or more. i have my child at the childcare the 2 days i work in shop and the full days in salon but the evenings my oh looks after her. i'm not up on all this.

I think you might be better off just giving their advice line a call, I don't think it matters how many jobs you have - it's down to the income the jobs bring in. Good luck with it hun, I'm sure you'll get it sorted out

yeah will do ang thanks hun:hug:
