Ok i am a qualified beauty therapist, up to nvq level 3. My nail ext look ok and stay on, but they could be a one hundred times better. I try and try and punish myself terribly. I have given up started again, given up and again want to strat again. Reason i want to work for myself, i worked hard to get the qualifications i have got and it has cost me a fortune in stuff, but every time business is slow, i worry if the client is happy and i would love to perfect nails.
I spoke with some friends and they say there is not many good nail techs out there, were we live any way and the one s that do look good ruin the natural nail.
So my question is do i call it a day, or nail tech just very artistic to start or is it getting the right training and practise.

we all feel the same, one time or another. If you really want to do nails than stop beating yourself up over it, if your convinced your no good. then you won't be any good, If it makes you feel unhappy give it up. or if it frustrates you and you can't leave it alone . then take a better view of yourself, if your telling people your no good then you won't be.
We all have down days...
hope this helps ..:cry::)thg

I would say to stick with it and get in as much practice as possible

there is a saying that nothing worth having ever came easy

No, you certainly do not have to be very artistic to become a good nail tech, but YES, you MUST get the right training and practise - you can't practise well until you have had good training!

Good luck girl, don't call it a day yet.

My advice would be in developing an eye for a correct and good looking nail. I found this by studying at as many images of nails as i could and pointing out what could be corrected and what mine lacked in comparison.

I found good training to be essential, you can practice all you like but until you learn the correct techniques you will just get frustrated. Why not post a picture of your nails and we can hopefully help you see what can be improved.

Good training is essential and you need to practice and be able to recognise where you go wrong and know how to rectify it and learn from it - I am at this stage now and it is hard and people on here will tell you I beat myself up about it all the time but it is all about practice practice practice. Things are never as easy as they seem but be professional and determined and ask for help and advice when needed on here as everyone is wonderful. It may take time but we can be fabulous nail techs in time. Good luck sweetie x
