I had my bum pubes plucked too the other day as the wax didnt catch then..why would this be a sexual bonding experience that I share with the man who I spend a lot of time convincing I am a natural beauty whilst sneaking off to be buffed, plucked, sprayed and polished at every opportunity?!?!?

maybe she wanted him there for moral support , she might have felt more comfortable having him there and just worded it badly.

So i guess it comes down to whether it is against insurance rules to have a 2nd person present or if the situation made the therapist uncomfortable.

Personally I also would have refused to have him there because I just wouldn't feel comfortable, partly because I too would feel him being there was voyeuristic and partly because if would make me feel like I was in an exam situation which would make me nervous either way.

im glad most people agree, even if it was innocent, which i doubt it then i still wouldnt like a boyfriend watching! Compleatly different than a mate coming in for moral support, and she would have been naked from waist down. Very awkward x

Well done for standing your ground, I would have never allowed this either.

Also you need to look at it from a personal safety aspect too, ok so you may be in a salon with other girls but you're locked in a room with a couple that clearly get their kicks from this behaviour! The fact she kicked off suggests to me that getting kicks where definitely on their agenda. I would have been mortified to ask let alone kick off if you said no! Good on you for standing your ground.

Our salon policy is to never let a member of the opposite sex in while we're doing their intimate wax, although we would consider letting a nervous first-time client's same-sex friend in. I guess some could accuse us of being inconsistent but you've got to strike a balance between protecting yourself and your staff and keeping the customers happy. Because we specialise in Brazilians and Hollywoods, we get a fair few wrong'uns calling up and emailing (always blokes, it has to be said), so we'll always errr on the side of caution, just in case....

It makes me uncomfortable when clients friends come in with them just to have their eb waxed, they watch you like a hawk!! A Hollywood?! Oh my!! No way hose!!

The only time I don't mind an audience is when it's a charity wax.

Ok that sounds worse than it is, ha ha! Had a client in today for a Hollywood wax (as taught by Kim lawless, so you know what positions they get into), anyway went to take her through and her boyfriend follows!? I tell him to take a seat in reception, we have magazines and the girls will get him a drink, the girl says oh no he.ll come in. Now i don't know how everyone feels but i was like.. What?? I thought about it and just thought i would be very uncomfortable so i said i didn't think it was appropriate and the room is quite small etc, she said no i want him to come in, he will check its all gone! I said i can assure you it will be all gone and he can check at home. She went off and one and said i was being ridiculous and stormed out shouting! Was i over thinking things??
