Hi guys, sorry for another matté nails question - I had someone ask if I can do a matté effect, but with a glossy pattern (like damask?) how would you go about doing that - is it possible with stamping? I'm no where near good enough to free hand damask patterns [emoji30] I'm trawling Insta/Pinterest etc to see if I can find similar X

Edited; I use CND shellac and would be on naturals X

Try it out on a false nail first. Colour, matte top, then shiney.

Wouldn't the shiny counteract the matté? Im assuming if you matted, stamped, then went over just the stamped part with the CND top coat it wouldn't be terribly durable

It shouldn't. I use Gelish and done a shiney pattern of matte, I freehand though, I feel stampers don't work with gelish. As long as you still set each coat.

Hrm maybe I'll just have to bite the bullet and practice free hand lol
