Okay, I think I should be the spokesperson for Young Nails' new product Mani-Q. lol

This is because this stuff is AWESOME!

I've always gotten really frustrated with enhancements so I've never really gotten into doing them but in order to stabalize my income and client base, I decide that I needed to do something.

Well, I tried acrylic.. no luck.. just got angry at the length of time it took to master.

I tried traditional gels (OPI Axxium). Same problem plus more due to the fact that it's a no-soak gel. Too much to deal with for my low attention span. haha :)

But I decided to try Young Nails when I saw their mani-q product. I loved the idea of an overlay that you could put on any length of natural nail without harm to the enhancement. I'm a natural nail kinda girl so this appealed to me.

Well, I tried it and I LOVE IT. I put it on a lot of my weekly clients and a hair dresser in my salon and they look great and last really well. The hairdresser even did yard work and hers looked perfect. Polish and all.

Okay, well, I got curious how this natural nail product would do over tips and you know what? It passed the test! I did one today on myself and I wish my camera would take focused pictures because it's the most beautiful and natural looking enhancement I have ever created in my career. It's so thin. And I know what you're thinking.. since it's so thin there must not be much strength. Well.. that's not true! This product is so flexable you don't need the same thickness as traditional enhancements.

And it's easy to build a stress area! I couldn't believe it. I created a thin but structured nail in less time then traditional means and way less product or effort.

Okay, I'm not apart of the Young Nails team (even tho I should be) but I am just so excited about this product that I wanted to share it with the forum. I've noticed no one really talks about the Young Nails guys and they really need some recognition. They are AWESOME. Try their site www.youngnails.com and you can find great tutorials and videos. They are the ones who taught me how to perfectly prep the nail.

Okay.. that's it!! Sorry this was so long, guys. :) :) I'm just really jazzed by this. It's great when you find your perfect product line.

I agree, when i got used to it, mani q was great and i wear it with much less trouble than acrylic x never tried tips with it though but always wondered and now will give it a try x

I also love it, its great on clients with weaker nails, and as you say lasts well, giving a great finish which looks fantastic with polish over the top. Wish they did it in colour.

I also use their L&P and Gel and love all the products, easy to use, gret results, clients love it and it wears well, plus the back up if you ring with a problem is wonderful, never made to fee silly, and always get a response.

The best is the Finish - just tops off all the rest, and also keeps polish looking great for longer (apply only when polish is dry or may peel).

is there a maniq white?

and can it be refilled or do you have to soak it off?

No white with it no.. pity, I'd LOVE if they brought out a white to go with it.. it can be refilled though with no problems

I ordered this and have yet to try it .

hi i love young nail products they are brilliant ive purchased the mani q but not used it yet cant wait to try it xxxxxx

There is no white in ManiQ yet, just clear unfortunately.
But I have to say that going against the holy grail we do have customers who use other soak off whites alongside the ManiQ with no problems.

Ive worn acrylic nails for the past 12 years. Never having them removed only backfilled and infilled. I decided to remove the whole lot just to trial the new ManiQ (I figured if Im selling it, then I need to know it works)
Well......it's worked. Regardless of how heavy handed I am.....it's done the job for the past 12 weeks. Though I so miss my glitter tips

Ive had the ManiQ buffed down and re-applied, even soaked off and re-applied. There are no strict rules.

You should trial the ManiQ, like anything, you wont know until you've put it through it's paces yourself.
Best of luck
Lisa x

Hi! I wanted to ask you how do you apply the nail polish on the mani.q nails? Do you rough them up a little before applying the nail polish? Also, do you use basecoat?

Thannks for time!:)

I started using Young nails in 2004 and LOVE them, but in saying that i have really took on to NFU OH there colour range is just amazing, but i have a few clients that like the look of the young nails rather than the NFU OH... Each to there own..

But never tried ManiQ must get on the ball today and order it..

Thanks for the info

You can now mix ordinary nail varnish with mani q at a ratio of 50/50 or 60/40 in favour of polish with lighter colours. I tried it last night with layer of mani q then 2 layers of mani q (colour) then 1 layer mani q and it was fab. Great for clients coming away from enhancements or with very weak nails or who are hard on their nails.
Think there is a tutorial, if you buy the gel empty pots you can mix in them and then save the colour for the client.
Anyone any experience of soaking off with it yet, ie how long?

Thanks

Yep mixing mani-Q with colour polish works fab - and the best bit? Clients can have whatever colour soak off gel they want! My mix is usually around 50/50 and sometimes il even mix in some glitter for extra oomph hehe

Soaking off is nice and easy and quick :D

Glad this post has been bumped up!

Just thought, hyper white is great to use for the French finish as it is very thin.

Hi everyone
I have been using the mani-q gel for over 1 year now, I absolutely love it as do my clients! I have found it is not strong enough to hold a tip only seems to last a few days so if i need to apply a tip a use a one conponent gel as i normally would then when client comes back for nail fil i then use mani-q from then on!
With info on white tips I have not tried mixing with varnish which I have heard about but I personally find if you apply 1 coat of mani-q then wipe off sticky layer & use white block bufferthen paint white on with varnish let it dry for a couple of mins then re-apply mani-q again just really make sure seal in edges or if in doubt apply another coat.
works great for me usually work on other hand whilst it dries.
give it a go!

I use Mani-q gel and use it mixed with polish. It great. Pretty much 2 weeks worth of wearing and no problems. It soaks off in start to finish around 10 mins. In warmed acetone.

I too was wondering about french. I was considering buying a white from another company for convenience so i dont have to mix 2 colours up.
But reading the above post I may try that.

Thinking on though isnt putting polish in between layers just like if you were to put polish under normal gel? likely to crack/chip?

When you mix the polish and mani-q together it becomes quite flexible and is very mobile on the nail plate.

Answers on postcard please lol

I have been using Young Nails for a couple years now and am blessed enough to be taught by one of their senior international mentors. I love all the YN products, from the electric file to the glitters. I have never tried to Mani-Q tho, but now im inspired. Also on a side note... In NOv, I get to attend a YN event and Meet the owner of YN Gregg :eek: Im soo excited :green:

After reading your posts i have ordered mani q today!!! It seems like such an exciting product. Also, the young nails team have been very helpful! Especially Lisa who i spoke to today who was happy to help me with my stupid questions! haha.

Im so excited i will be watching for the postman!

I may be hasseling you geeks for tips very soon.

We have just launched a brand new product called Polish Off....
It'll remove nail polish instantly and it removes the mani q gel polish in around 60 secs so all you need do then is simply buff.
Better still, you can upsell to your clients!
We'll have it at the Manchester show this weekend, so be sure to try it. Or call in and pick one up before we sell out :)

Right Mani q geeks!

My first ever pot of mani q arrived today! yay!! I bought the 15ml pot to start with.

How long do you lot feel the 15ml will last i.e: how many sets will you get out of a pot? I notice that the application is thin. I will be using it mainly to mix with polish. x

If im honest my first 15ml pot has done 6 sets so far but I defo over used it and had to throw away after I finished it as i just mix it in a dappen dish. There is still around 4-5 sets in it. That is with mixing with polish though.
HTH xx:hug:
