Zone 1 dvd's

ok gonna sound like a total dunce now, but can region 1 dvds from usa be played on a regular dvd player here in uk - the 2 dvds my daughter wants for xmas are zone 1, grrrr

not normally, but if u can check to see if you can change the setting of your dvd player.

They wont play on a bog standard UK player but if you have one of the fancy ones where you can reset the region then it may.

If you have a few or will have more in the future it might be worth getting a multi region player. I picked mine up a couple of years ago from comet or the like for only 20 quid.
