Is it mean to ask a rent a chair stylist to provide their own towels and electric equipment- she was previously employed by me , and we need to clarify our contract ! Any suggestions from those experts in this area? Xx

I would expect them to have their own straighteners and maybe hair dryer unless there's one already sitting there not being used that she used while employed there. but I wouldn't expect them to bring their own towels they'd just get mixed up anyway and part of the rent is use of salon items such as towels, shampoo etc. Hope this helps.
If you do visit Germany, let me know and we can meet up. We live in Aachen which is an hour from Dusseldorf.

Wouldn't let me write more!...

I don't scrimp on lashes, glue, etc. I get those from LashArt. But disposables, like microfibre brushes, tape, patches, etc., I shop around for and have saved a small fortune. Hope that helps!

I get my lashes and glue from Lash Heaven, amazing retention with their black fierce glue. Lashes are fab too. Brushes, tape etc I also shop around as you can save a small fortune! but don't scrimp and save on lashes and glue :-)
why does hair depilatory wax go gritty or it looks like sand is in it ,as though it is crystallising. The wax then seems to not pull of the hairs ,this is for both hot and cold wax methods . i have used the same wax cleaner products for years on the outer of the pots and i do not double dip. Can any one help on what is going on as it has just started doing this and i have to then get rid of the wax.

Hello Stefm80, we are on B41. This is several stands behind Scratch on the left side when you come in.
What are the timings for dolly lash lift please?
I’m LVL trained but fancy a change of brand, LVL is 14-16 min for first lotion and 7 mins for second lotion.
What do you all do for Dolly lash?
Thank you x

We will have plenty of services available for £15 for example but we would not visit a customers house for just that they would have to book that service and another to get over the £25 threshold for our mobile services. And wow you work really long days dont you? I was thinking if I asked the girls to work 8 hours and 30 minutes that would be a long day.

I mean working 12pm - 9pm isn't nice for us & I know most places don't function these ways. I think with mobile you will find most appointments will be afternoon & evening.
Good morning Charlotte thanks for all your advice honestly you have been fantastic with all the help you have given me! And I did some research looking at Salon prices and Mobile prices to work out my prices for each service. I tried to be as competitive as I could offering these new services. And I decided that the minimum spend would be £25. Thats the only way I could make the service financially viable.
With regards to wages what would be a good wage? Our minimum spend for a mobile service will be £25 is this too low? This will obviously influence what I can pay in wages. We will be a mobile business and I am thinking of £15 per booking and getting each employee to complete 6 bookings a day. Would this be a good wage? So a daily rate would be £90 but this will include £10 for petrol. Is this a good wage?

Yes it is a good wage, I think the average in our salon days rate is £80 without hitting commission, so if they was to work cash in hand (pretend I didn't say that), they would receive £80. If they was to receive a wage hitting commission it could be £100-140 a day. Also we do 9 hour days. I think you also need to look at how many clients they are doing a day. Your minimum mobile spend would probably be your lowest

service, ie blowdry. Which would probably be £25-30. Toners wouldn't qualify for minimum spend, they would have to get a colour service, because going to do mobile hair for £15 just wouldn't work.
Good morning Charlotte, Thanks so much for all your advice and for taking the time to respond. I will look at all your suggestions regarding recruitment and also advertising too. Though I am actually a marketing and web design expert! So I'm hopeful that side of things will be relatively straight forward. Its the recruitment side and getting good employees I am concerned about.
