i have today bought hot wax and rather exicited and been playing with it but i'm having problems, which are
at the egge its inst all coming off and i'm having to scrape it off
and its not coming off in one pice its snapping and then i'm having to pull the rest off and sometimes in pieces
i undertand it goes brittle when it gets cold but i'm not even leaving it on for 30 seconds :|

 Ive been there before...

Your applying it too thin. Hard wax must be applied thickly to remove. Try applying it thickly, leaving the edge you plan to pull thicker.

Which brand are you using?

You need as good quality hot wax like Perron Rigot.

my spelling in what i have just wrote is terrible sorry :o
its sallys salon system one, its a cheaper one i think i got it more to see if i get on with the stuff

You really can't describe the difference between the wax you are currently trialling and one of the really top quality hot waxes .. the difference is huge.

I'm sure Thalgo (Perron Rigot suppliers) or one of the other good quallity hot wax suppliers will send out testers so you can see the difference for yourself.
