Buildings insurance

Do u have to pay for a preportion of building insurance if u rent a building?!

I can't understand why though I rent out a house and don't ask my tenant for buildings insurance as that's my cost so I'm confused why u would need to pay a preportion for the buildings? Did they say why?

It's because commercial and residential insurance are completely different.

Ok thank you! Also does anyone recommend a broker for gas and elec my electric is 236 a month! It seems ridiculous
