Can't view pictures

I don't know if I've knocked some setting off by accident but I can't view pictures anymore. I can't wait to see Loo's piccies of nail art but when I try it says it's downloading and is taking forever. HELP all you computer experts out there. Also my son has been downloading films much to my annoyance, seems a bit of a coincidence that it's happening now.
