Coloured acrylics, how to?

Huya,

Just a quick question, when applying coloured acrylic would you do a thin layer of clear, layer of colour, cap with clear (using this layer for bulding strength?) any suggestions greatly appreciated x

I only cap with clear if I'm protecting a design/glitter or if the coloured powder isn't a strength powder.
I apply clear first make redesigns easier so you can just file back to the clear and also to avoid staining the nail plate
