:Scared: I'm entering a nails competiton at the end of march and I need advice on how to apply acrylic to long tips quickly

Well if I were you, I would not be doing any application quickly.

This is not the area in which to speed up .. this is the area to do perfect precision work annd it cannot be rushed. Take your time in this area of your work and speed up in other areas like finishing.

thanks, its true its just that in the elimination round i was pressed for time so i thought it was my application.

Good luck with the competition though :) Let us know how you get on

I would do minimum amount of PREP (after all the nails do not have to last)

Tips on and no blending .... Cut out the wells ..... use fast set adhesive

Application ... take your time ... finish the 'polished' hand and polish it and get it out of the way to dry.

All the rest of your time can be used to ... Finish pink and white hand to a high gloss shine.

Is it just the look of the nails they want in comps ?

That's right!
The look
Consistency of shape and design
perfection of smiles
etc

In Jamaica, the competition is a whole lot different. I specialise in nails so I'm enetered in the beauty therapy category. I have to do waxing, mani/pedi and makeup application along with the tips and acrylic. The competitor is not judged on a polished hand and pink & white basis.
