Yes Caz i too received a neg rep for my contribution....I think this is rather childish and petty thing to do when congratulating a friend on her well deserved success.
I am not going to turn this into a witch hunt as there has been enough bad feeling on the board recently but this person is obviously bitter about something and is most definitely not a supportive geek!
You all know I do not post in threads like these but I am furious that I have received a neg rep for something like this i.e unoffensive.

Me again! I just wanted to point out that while it's great to be able to congratulate Denise (as she rightly deserves) this is in no way a reflection on Nicola Shackleford (the original first placed Novice). She did not knowingly dupe anyone.
The rules of the Novice category were changed at the GMex competition and Nicola entered in good faith thinking that she had adhered to all criteria. As you might remember, we used to just stipulate that to enter the Novice category you should have never entered a competition before. The issue of how long you'd been doing nails didn't come into it.
I just wanted to clarify this as the mistake is ours (in not making everyone clear on the rules) not Nicola's, and Nicola (who at the time of comp had been doing nails for a year and 3/4) has been extremely understanding in accepting the current situation.
