Do I need an NVQ 3 to work in a salon? x

Hi there,

I trained as a beauty therapist in Australia. I did a 5 days a week course for a year, i graduated with a Diploma in Beauty therapy. Do you know if that is equivalent to an NVQ2 in England?

I trained 5 years ago and since then i have been working in the film industry as a makeup artist so have never had experience in a salon. what would you recommend i do now? should i apply for work experience in a salon?

Could anyone give me some advice on NVQ3 courses? Do you think it's necessary when looking for work in a salon? if yes, can anyone suggest a good course in London?

Would really love some help on this as i'm very confused with what to do.

Get the facts about what your current qualification is equivalent to before making a decision.

You can get a salon job with a nvq2 but there's a lot of competition out there so i would recommend having nvq3 too.
